After careful review of our fundraising initiatives and based on feedback from parents, the PTA will be piloting a “Direct Donation Drive”for the upcoming 2018-2019 school year. In this way, all parents will be asked to donate one time only for each of their children in the district, instead of multiple requests throughout the school year. In addition, every dollar raised through this fundraising initiative will go back directly to the schools.
In past years, the PTA Prize Party has served as our main fundraising event. While it is our largest fundraiser, it is has also become one of the most draining events on our limited parent-volunteers with some of the money raised having to be used to pay for the expenses of the event. The new Direct Donation Drive will replace the need for an annual Prize Party, and as such we will not be holding the annual Prize Party in 2019. As with every PTA fundraiser the Direct Donation Drive dollars collected will fund the PTA’s vision of enhancing the learning experience of EVERY CHILD in our schools, so our goal is to have EVERY family participate in the district.
The Direct Donation Drive, which will run September through December, will request a suggested donation of $40 per child in the district*, however families can donate any amount they choose. We feel this is an amount that will help us maintain all the wonderful programs listed below.
Your ‘One-Time Direct Donation’will help fund the PTA activities including:
- School Grants and Teacher Grants (for technology, books, classroom resources/equipment, special programs, music and arts program support, STEAM program, etc.)
- School Assemblies
- RMS, BKL, BWD Events (RMS Picnic, Pep Rallies, Fun Nights, End of Year DJ/Dance Party, etc…)
- Teacher Appreciation Luncheon
- Hospitality (Beginning of Year Staff Luncheon)
- Sunshine Committee
